Minutes of the Board of Trustees Meeting held immediately after the General Body meeting on 6th April, 2019 at GPF, New Delhi

 

Consequent upon the election of a Life Trustees (for vacant place) and Elected Trustees by the General Body of Indian Renaissance Institute in its meeting on 6th April, 2019 at Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi, the following members constituted the BoT:

 

Life Trustees:

  1. Dr. Ramesh Awasthi
  2. Mr. N.D. Pancholi
  3. Mr. Jayanti Patel
  4. Mr. Vinod Jain
  5. Mr. Narottam Vyas
  6. Ms. Rekha Saraswat
  7. Mr. Ajit Bhattachryya
  8. Mr. S.C. Jain

 

Elected Trustees (Elected for Two Years):

  1. Mr. Mahi Pal Singh
  2. Mr. S.C. Varma,
  3. Mr. S.K. Nazimuddin,
  4. Ms. Anjali Chakraborty, and
  5. Mr. Vidya Sagar
  6. Mr. Kiran Nanavati, and
  7. Mr. G. Veeranna

 

As per tradition, the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the IRI was held immediately after the election of Life/Elected Trustees by the General Body of the IRI on 6th April, 2019 at GPF. New Delhi. Dr. Ramesh Awasthi, was requested to preside over the meeting. As mentioned in the list of participants, Dr. Ramesh Awasth, Mr. N.D. Pancholi, Mr. Narottam Vyas, Mr. Vinod Jain, Mr. Satish Chandra Varma, Mr. Ajit Bhattacharya, Mr. S.C.Jain, Ms. Anjali Chakraborty,  Mr. Kiran Nanavati, Mr. Mohd. Nazimuddin attended as members of the Board of Trustees. Rest of the participants attended as special invitees.  Dr. Ramesh Awasthi, as requested by the members, presided over the meeting.

 

Presiding over the meeting, Dr. Ramesh Awasthi proposed that the Board of Trustees should first Co-opt two members for the BoT. He invited two names for it. The following names were proposed and approved by the BoT for Co-opted members:

 

(1) Co-opted Members:

  1. Mr. Ved Prakash Arya, and
  2. Mr. Apurba Dasgupta.

 

(2) Election of the Office Bearers of the Board of Trustees of IRI:

The following Office Bearers of the Board of Trustees of IRI were elected unanimously for the next two years – 2019-2020:

 

  1. President – Dr. Ramesh Awasthi
  2. Vice-Presidents – Mr. N.D. Pancholi & Mr. S.C. Jain
  3. Secretaries – Mr. Mahi Pal Singh & Mr. Kiran Nanavati
  4. Treasurer – Mr. Satish Chandra Varma

 

(3)  Confirmation of the Minutes of the last BoT Meeting:

The newly constituted Board of Trustees also approved the minutes of the BoT Meeting dated 29.1.2017 held at GPF. New Delhi.

 

(4)  Following resolutions were unanimously passed for operation of bank accounts:-

 

            (a)                                                       RESOLUTION:

                        “RESOLVED by this meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Indian                                  Renaissance    Institute held on 6th April, 2019 at Gandhi Peace Foundation,                      New Delhi that the Current Account No. 0349201821034 in Canara Bank,                                Maharani Bagh Branch, New Delhi, in the name of ‘The Radical Humanist’,                         the monthly magazine published by the Indian Renaissance Institute, shall be                         operated by any two of the following office bearers of the Indian Renaissance                 Institute:

 

                                    (1)  Dr. Ramesh Awasthi                         President

                                    (2)  Mr.Mahi Pal Singh                            Secretary

                                    (3)   Mr. Satish Chandra Varma              Treasurer”

 

            (b)                                           RESOLUTION:

 

                        “RESOLVED by this meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Indian                                  Renaissance Institute held on 6th April, 2019 at Gandhi Peace Foundation,                         New Delhi that the SB Account Nos. 02070100005296 and                                            02070100005297 in UCO Bank, Supreme Court Branch, New Delhi in the                  name of ‘Indian Renaissance Institute’ shall be operated by any two of the                                following office bearers of the Indian Renaissance Institute:

                                    (2)  Mr. Mahi Pal Singh                         Secretary

                                    (3)  Mr. Satish Chandra  Varma            Treasurer”

 

 

 

            (c)                                            RESOLUTION:

 

                         “RESOLVED by this meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Indian                                 Renaissance Institute held on 6th April, 2019 at Gandhi Peace                                              Foundation, New Delhi that the Account of Fixed Deposit Investment                            vide receipt No. CKY/01-317182(F.D. A/C  No. 02070310166369 for                         Rs.1,00,000/-.in UCO Bank, Supreme Court Branch, New Delhi in the                               name of  ‘Indian Renaissance Institute’  shall be operated by any two                              of the following office bearers of the Indian Renaissance Institute:

                                    (2)  Mr. Mahi Pal Singh                         Secretary

                                    (3)  Mr. Satish Chandra Varma             Treasurer”
