Minutes of the Virtual Board of Trustees Meeting held on         

                                             6th February 2021

The following members/invitee members attended the virtual BoT Meeting held through Zoom to discuss and take decisions on urgent issues:

Dr. Ramesh Awasthi presided over the meeting.

  1. First of all the members observed a minute’s silence to pay their tributes to Sh. Kiran Nanavati and Sh. Satish Chandra Varma, who died since the last BoT meeting held at Pune in November 2019.
  2. Then the minutes of the BoT meeting held on 16th and 17th November 2019 at Pune, were presented, discussed and confirmed.
  3. Raising Finances for The Radical Humanist and to meet other expenses of the IRI:

The matter was discussed in detail and the following decisions were taken:

(a)    To write request letters to all our donors and also to request the subscribers for donation;

(b)   To revise the subscription rates of The Radical Humanist as follows:

Annual Subscription:              Rs. 300

2 Year Subscription:               Rs. 550

3 Year Subscription                Rs. 800

Life Subscription:                   Rs. 4,000

                   4. Appointment of the Publisher of The Radical Humanist:

Because of the sudden demise of Sh. Satish Chandra Varma, who was also the Publisher of the magazine, Sh. Sheo Raj Singh was earlier requested to look after the work of the Publisher of The Radical Humanist. His appointment was regularized with the following details to be published in the RH for the convenience of the subscribers:

                  5. Position of the Humanist House, 13 Mohini Road case at Uttarakhand High  

Court, Nainital:

Mr. Mahi Pal Singh told the members that the case was to be heard by the Court in January, 2021 but on the date of hearing of the case the Judge was on leave.  So the case could not be heard. After that the Court was closed for winter from 18th January 2021 to February 17th 2021 and as such it will be taken up after the vacation.

  1. Resolutions to be passed:

(a)    Resolution to be sent to the two banks at Mumbai for running the IRI accounts by the IRI office bearers authorized to run other IRI account at New Delhi

(b)   Resolution regarding appointment of the Publisher of the RH to be submitted to the DCP Licensing/Registrar of Newspapers for necessary action

(c)    Resolution on the current situation of the country and the role of the IRI members

  All the three matters were discussed and approved and Sh. N.D. Pancholi was   

  requested to draft the Resolutions for further necessary action.

  1. Ms. Sangeeta Mall was requested by Dr. Ramesh Awasthi to report whether she had taken any action with regard to the two IRI accounts in the Banks at Mumbai as she had volunteered to do so at the last BoT Meeting held at Pune in November, 2019 to which Ms. Mall replied that she had not been able to do so.

The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to all the members and particularly to Dr. Ramesh Awasthi, who presided over the meeting, and who had made all the arrangements for making the Zoom meeting possible.
